Press conference

The official press conference of the Dunlop 24h Dubai has just ended. Chairman of the Dubai Autodrome and Gerrie Willems of the Creventic organisation were joined by Talal Alsuwaidi of the Dubai Department of Tourism and Omran Al Owais of UAE Lap 57 Racing Team to welcome all participants and teams to Dubai.



Both parties underlined the progress that this race has made for Dubai. "5 years ago, no Emirates team participated. We are very proud that so many teams from the UAE participate now too," says Saeed Khalfan. "It is so good to see teams from so many different countries here in Dubai, together, enjoying this event. I always say: If you love racing, you come to Dubai!"

Gerrie Willems ended the press conference by spreading the word: "Some people are reluctant to come to Dubai, because they think that you have to race in the desert. But of course, Dubai Autodrome has a great racetrack. People also think that coming to Dubai is expensive and difficult, but it's not. Creventic takes care of the entire logistic operation, so it's really easy. Next year, we aim for a 100 cars, but we can only do it together!"
